About BukTale. BukTale is the name of this reading and writing platform. BukTale is not registered as a company, partnership, business or any other legal form, and has no legal representative. Data is handled by the people who run BukTale, only to provide the service. In these documents, "BukTale", "we" or "the platform" refer to the service and the people who run it.
What we store
Account data (username, email, year of birth), preferences (language, reading theme), activity (stories you follow, progress, comments, reviews) and minimal technical data.
Language & location
We use the approximate country of your IP address only to choose the initial language. We do not store your IP for that purpose. Your language choice is saved in a cookie and, if you have an account, in your profile.
Sign-in with Hubmy
Your identity (email, country) is managed by Hubmy when you sign in; BukTale receives that data to create and maintain your account.
Legal documents
We store which version of each document you accepted, the date and how (at sign-up, explicitly or implicitly), so we can prove it and show it to you whenever you want.
Payments
Processed by a third-party provider. We never receive or store your card number. Authors' identity verification and payout details are stored encrypted.
Your rights
You can download your data or delete your account at any time from My account. When you delete it we erase your personal data and documents; we keep payment and royalty records, without personal data, for as long as the law requires.
Changes
When we publish a new version we will notify you on BukTale and with a push notification. You will have 24 hours to review and accept it; after that period it will be considered implicitly accepted. If you do not agree, you can stop using BukTale and delete your account at any time. You can reread the version you accepted at any time from My account › Legal documents.
